Noted Bollywood actor and brother of Salman Khan, Arbaz Khan, appeared before Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) of Thane in Mumbai. He has confessed to his involvement in IPL betting. However, he has denied of his involvement in any kind of money laundering.
The actor’s name was revealed by the notorious cricket bookie, Sonu Jalan, who is currently in the police net. Jalan had alleged that when Arbaz lost around Rs 2.75 cr in IPL betting, he refused to pay the amount to Jalan and it let to the friction between the two. Jalan used to threaten Arbaaz for getting his money due to the actor.
Sarkar movie producer Parag Sanghvi, CEO of Alumbra Entertainment & Lotus Film company is also being grilled by AEC in this connection. The former MD of media company K Sera Sera, is known for financing and distributing films produced by Ram Gopal Varma has been called for questioning in the IPL betting racket exposed by Anti Extortion Cell Thane in which topmost bookie Sonu Malad alias Sonu Jalan has been arrested. It was in this connection that Arbaz Khan was interrogated for more than four hours and his bodyguard, Shera had also reached AEC office to accommodate Arbaz K investigation which is being conducted by senior PI, Pradeep Sharma.
Meanwhile, Arbaz’s ex-wife, Malaika Arora rushed to Galaxy Apartment to meet Arbaaz Khan on his return to home after being interrogated in IPL betting scam. Arbaz Khan had been summoned by Thane Police for probe in #IPL betting case.
It has been revealed that the cricket betting has got its link to the fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim and its network is spread across several countries. Total amount involved into the illegal trade goes beyond Rs 1000 crore.
