Promoter of Mumbai based prestigious Viraj Prints and a flamboyant Bollywood vendor, Saurin Shah has won an international acclaim. At a pompous function held at luxurious St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai recently, Saurin Shah won ‘Innovative Printer of the Year 2017’ recognition at PrintWeek 2017 Awards organized by a British media house, PrintWeek.
PrintWeek is a UK print-related magazine and website. It covers print industry-specific subject matter, particularly the equipment and business sides of the sector. The fortnightly magazine focuses on industry news and printing equipment, and it also produces daily newspapers for industry exhibitions and runs its own awards. It also produces a range of supplements including the Top 500, listing the best performing companies in the sector and Buyers guide, cataloguing the products available. It was originally called Litho Week. PrintWeek was started in 1958. The title is published by Mark Allen Group which acquired it in April 2013. Then the frequency of the magazine was changed to fortnightly. It was published on a weekly basis until that date. The headquarters is in south east London.
Over the years, Viraj Prints has become a favourite vendor of Bollywood’s buoyant music industry. Brand Viraj’s innovative packaging of music CDs became extremely popular with entertainment industry clients like Shemaroo, Tips, Eros, PVR, UTV, AXN, Walt Disney, Optimistix, etc.
Under the leadership of doyen Ashwin Shah, Viraj Prints entered the world of printing in 1981 with a small letterpress unit. Thereafter, it expanded it to an offset printing press, and soon ventured into digital printing.
