Noted actor Kavi Kumar Azad, who was more popular among g his fans as Dr Hansraj ‘Haathi’, breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital. He died of cardiac arrest. The actor was supposed to attend a meeting today with the entire cast and the producer of the show, but he informed the producer of the show that he is unwell and hence won’t be able to make it.
He was unwell and was admitted in Wokhardt Hospital at Mira Road in Mumbai. Sources say that he died of heart attack.
Azad had also featured in a few films including Aamir Khan’s Mela and Funtoosh, apart from his work with television.
Ravi Hirvani, centre head, Wokhardt Hospital, Mira Road said, “When he was brought to the hospital, he was unconscious and when doctor checked him he was declared dead. His relatives said that since he was overweight, he used to have difficulty in breathing. As it became more problematic he was rushed to the hospital immediately.”
Now, the debate is on in the film circle that what will happen to the popular TV soap. The show is already suffering losses in absence of the lead female actor, who has gone on leave on maternity.
