Lalu Prasad and his family members are likely to face more hardships from all around. On one hand, Lalu and his younger son Tejashwi have been questioned in railway hotel allotment scam, on the other Income Tax sleuths have attached three properties belonging to Lalu’s wife and former CM of Bihar, Rabri Devi, and his daughter Hema Yadav in different localities of Patna. Income Tax has attached these properties for 90 days on temporary. During this period Income Tax will summon Rabri and Hema and will question about these properties. If their answer will be not satisfactory, properties will be attached permanently and then trial will be run against both in the unnamed property court in New Delhi. If unnamed property case found true, seven years sentence may be awarded.
According to Income Tax department sources, information of properties attachment has been passed on to the related persons. The department has informed the registry office too about the action, so that it cannot be sold.
Attached properties had been gifted to Rabri and Hema by peon of Legislative Council, Lalan Choudhary and another staff Hridayanand Choudhary. Lalan works on Rabri’s residence too. He had bought 2.5 decimal land in Phoolwarisharif area at Rs 30 lakh and plot of 7.5 decimal in Danapur at Rs 62 lakh. Lalan gifted first plot to Rabri and second to Hema. Hridyanand also donated plot of 7.5 decimal to Hema. Income Tax department officials have already interrogated to Lalan and Hridyanand on the issue.
