RJD president Lalu Prasad appeared before CBI at its New Delhi- based headquarters on Thursday in the Railway tender scam case. CBI officials questioned Lalu from already prepared questionnaire. Lalu reached CBI office with his elder daughter and Rajya Sabha MP, Misa Bharti.
Lalu had to appear before CBI on October 3, but he had urged to the CBI to give more time for personal reason and offered October 5 for appearing. CBI had summoned Lalu 4th time for appearing.
Now Lalu’s younger son and former deputy CM of Bihar, Tejashwi Prasad is also to appear before CBI on Friday in the same case. CBI will question to Tejshswi, too.
CBI is investigating Railway’s hotels allotment case on lease in return of a three acre plot allegedly given to Lalu and his family in Patna by beneficiaries. CBI has lodged an FIR for alleged irregularities in the allotment of hotels, located in Puri and Ranchi during Lalu’s tenure as Railway Minister, on July 5.
Lalu, Tejashwi, Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi, Kochar Brothers, who had taken the hotels on lease, RJD’ MP Premchand Gupta’s wife, Sarla Gupta and PK Goel, then Managing Director of RICTC have been named as accused in the case.
