In a fresh incident, miscreants shot at a rural journalist, Pankaj Mishra in Arwal district of Bihar. The incident took place when the journo was returning from a bank after withdrawal of money amounting to Rs 1lakh. The goons looted the money and shot at him on his back. Mishra is currently undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital. He continues to be in a critical condition.
According to relatives of the journalist, bike-bone two goons were following him from the bank. The miscreants stopped Pankaj on way and tried to loot the money. As Mishra resisted, the goons shot at him on his back and took away the cash. Local people admitted the journo in the nearby hospital with the help of police from where the doctor referred him to Patna for better treatment. According to SP of Arwal, Dilip Kumar, both goons are from Pankaj’s village. One of them has been arrested. Weapons used for the crime has also been recovered from him. Names of criminals include Kundan Mahto and Ambika Mahto. It is being said the case is related to an old enmity. Pankaj is associated with a Hindi newspaper.
