With the objective to preserve and promote the environment, NAREDCO Maharashtra initiated a tree plantation and conservation drive. The initiative was inaugurated by Amruta Fadnavis, better half of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Rajan Bandelkar, Vice President, NAREDCO Maharashtra along with other NAREDCO members shared the dais along with Amruta Fadnavis. The tree plantations were done in association with the Forest Ministry, Government of Maharashtra at Masaheb Meenatai Thackery Botanical Garden in Chembur, Mumbai.

NAREDCO Maharashtra has been working towards social responsibilities like environment conservation, and is committed to sustainable growth by ensuring the environment is cared for in Mumbai as also the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) as also the stet of Maharashtra. The tree plantation drive is distinct given its focus on not just planting, but also sustaining the plants. At the same time, the event seeks to foster a culture of responsibility towards nature among various stake-holders. NAREDCO Maharashtra will not only plant trees, but will also take care of them, in partnership with the Forest Ministry, Maharashtra and the BMC.

“I plant a lot of trees, but one of the major reasons why I am attending this event is the need to move beyond just planting of trees,” said Amruta Fadnavis. “For me, beyond just the planting of trees is the initiative to make sure that proper care of these saplings is taken by NAREDCO Maharashtra through the years. I am a great believer of the famous saying ‘As you sow so should you reap’. It is important that this small step today will benefit us in a big way tomorrow. I would like to congratulate NAREDCO Maharashtra, Niranjan Hiranandani, Rajan Bandelkar and other committee members for taking this initiative and inviting me for the tree plantation drive,” she added.

We will continue to undertake such initiatives that contribute to make our society greener and healthier”.

Addressing the event, Rajan Bandelkar Vice president NAREDCO Maharashtra said “I would like to congratulate Sudhir Mungantiwar, Honorable Forest Minister, Government of Maharashtra for giving us this opportunity to be the part of his great initiative, ‘Giving Back To Mother Earth’. Tree Plantation and such green initiative drives are more important now than ever due to the constant rise in pollution and rapid urbanisation. I would like to thank Amruta Fadnavis for taking time out and attending the event. As our honorable chief guest mentioned, NAREDCO Maharashtra will make sure that proper care and timely review is done of all the plant planted during this initiative.”

Taking ahead Government’s initiative, the Realtor’s body is set to hold another Tree Plantation drive on 5 July at Kalyan. Aditya Uddhav Thackeray, Head of Yuva Sena will be the Chief Guest of the drive along with committee members of NAREDCO Maharashtra.
