PTC India under its CSR initiative has fully renovated, modernized and beautified the community toilet complex near MTNL Building at Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi–11 0066 through its Trust named as ‘PTC Foundation’. This toilet complex was inaugurated by Deepak Amitabh, IRS (r) CMD of PTC India. This community toilet is fitted with bio-digester and has ample natural light. This initiative is providing clean and user friendly hygienic public convenience in this area. The bio-digester helps in discharge of 90% clean waste into the sewerage system there by reducing the load on STP. The toilet complex is having facility for persons with physical disability.
Meanwhile, PTC Financial Services (PFS), as part of its CSR initiative had launched a ‘Skill Development Program on Solar Energy’, in partnership with National Power Training Institute, Faridabad, for rural youth, at Atal Sewa Kendra, Kalyan Singh ki Sid in Bap, Jodhpur district, Rajasthan. The four weeks course was conducted near Bhadla where one of the country’s largest solar parks, is coming up. The solar park is spread over an area of 10,000 acres and has a proposed capacity is 2,255 MW, with 2,500 MW in the pipeline. The CSR project aimed at skilling the youth in installing and maintenance of solar panels and related activities. The EPC contractors and developers engaged in setting up units in the Solar Park were taken on board by PFS to enable some of the Trainees to get employment in/around Bhadla. During the program, the Trainees were taken for an on-site visit to a 100 MW solar plant. As part of the practical of Training program, the Trainees themselves installed a 2 KW roof top solar panel with storage system, provided by PFS, at a local ancient site, recommended by the Gram Panchayat, which was donated by PFS to the Gram Panchayat. The program concluded in mid-April, 2018. A certificate of successful completion of the Skill Development Program, jointly with PFS and NPTI was handed over to the successful trainees by Naveen Kumar, Director (Ops), PFS in the presence of Gram Panchayat representatives. On the Valedictory day 5 Trainees were handed an offer of appointment by a Solar Power developer.
