Prime Minister gifts projects worth Rs 22, 000 crore to State
Lays foundation stone of Rs 1100 crore Bhilai I.I.T. building
Raipur-Jagdalpur flight services launched
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today said that the policies and programmes of the Government are meant for ameliorating the socio-economic conditions of the deprived sections of the society. Development, development and only development is the panacea for conspiracies and violence in the country. An atmosphere of trust had been created in the country and Chhattisgarh by focusing on progress.
Mr. Modi was addressing a massive public meeting at Jayanti stadium in Bhilai Nagar. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, Union Minister of Steel Mr. Chowdhary Veerendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Communications Mr. Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of State for Steel Mr. Vishnudev Sahay, Assembly Speaker Mr. Gowrishankar Agrawal,several Cabinet colleagues, MPs and MLAs were also present. Higher Education Minister Mr. Premprakash Pande welcomed the gathering.
Prime Minister digitally dedicated, laid foundation stones and performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of development works worth Rs 22 thousand crore. This includes dedication of modernization of Bhilai Steel Plant worth Rs 18 thousand 500 crore. Mr. Modi launched Bharata Net Project (second phase) worth Rs 2066 crore which will provide Internet connectivity to 104 gram panchayats, flight connectivity between Raipur-Jagdalpur-Visakhapatnam under the ‘Udaan Yojana’ and also dedicated Jagdalpur airport worth Rs 40 crore.
Mr. Narendra Modi while referring to the inauguration earlier of Command and Control Centre at Naya Raipur said all the services can be monitored from a small centre. It will be a role model for rest of the Smart Cities in the country.
Gram Swarajya Mission medium of people’s participation
Mr. Modi said that Gram swarajya mission had been launched at village Jaangla district Jagdalpur about two months ago as a part of 115 Aspirational Districts development project. It was on 14 April. And today it is 14 June. All the houses in villages should have bank account, electricity and water connections, insurance coverage, LED bulbs in all hamlets, and other amenities to improve the living conditions of villagers. In Chhattisgarh people’s participation was visible in Gram Swaraj Mission. One crore 30 lakh citizens had opened their bank accounts under the Jan-Dhan Yojana. Twenty-six lakh customers got loans under Mudra Yojana without any bank guarantee. Thirteen lakh farmers had been benefited from the Crops Insurance Scheme. New Era of development is taking place in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh steel is used from Kutch-Cuttack, Kargil- Kanyakumari
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi appreciated the spectacular performance of Bhilai Steel Plant after dedicating the modernized unit worth Rs 18 thousand 500 crore. The Steel plant is equipped with ultra-modern technology and new capacities. He added that the tracks laid from Kutch-Cuttack, Kargil-Kanykumari originate from the pious land of Chhattisgarh as ‘prasad’. Steel is manufactured with blood and sweat of the workers of the State. Bhilai Steel Plant not only manufactured steel but also moulded the lives of citizens in a better way. The modernized Steel Plant will fulfill the dreams of modern India. Prime Minister said that just like Bhilai Steel Plant, steel plant of Nagarnar will also bring positive transformation in lives of people in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
On the occasion, Mr. Modi inaugurated upgrading and expansion projects of BSP worth Rs 18 thousand 500 crore and also inaugurated the second phase of Bharat Net Project that would provide internet connectivity to more than four thousand Gram Panchayats. He further said that minerals like iron ore have made major contribution in accelerating the growth of Chhattisgarh. This is the reason why we have made the provision of District Mineral Fund (DMF) for mineral-abundant states of the country.
Golden Chapter to Empowering Future of the State
On commencement of flight service from Raipur-Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatnam under Udaan Yojana, Mr. Modi said- Government is working towards connecting people through road, water and airways. Mr. Modi said in context of the projects inaugurated today- a new golden chapter is being added to the history of Chhattisgarh today to empower future of the state. On inauguration of Jagdalpur Airport and Raipur-Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatnam flight service, Mr. Modi said that the region, earlier where governments used to fall short in development of roads, now have airports. One such airport has been development in Jagdalpur. Our Government wants to make air travel affordable for everyone. This is the reason why affordable domestic flight services are being launched across the country under Udaan Yojana. Mr. Modi said earlier road travel from Raipur to Jagdalpur used to take 6-7 hours, but with flight services this journey has been shortened to 40 minutes. This will not only decrease the distance but will also promote tourism and generate employment. Mr. Modi said- there was a time Raipur Airport didn’t have more than six flights in a day but now this number has increased to 50.
Bhilai to become new destination for technical education with IIT
On foundation laying of IIT in Bhilainagar, Prime Minister skill development is important for Make-in-India. Bhilai nagar is identified as education hub of the country since many decades, but need of IIT was always felt. With consistent efforts of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Bhilai has finally got IIT. Our Government has sanctioned five IITs in the country, which includes Bhilai. This new campus will be developed at the cost of Rs 1100 crore.
Second Phase of Bharat Net Prioject to be completed by March of next year
Mr. Modi said on the inauguration of second phase of Bharat Net Project that Central Government intends to provide information technology to maximum number of people under Digital India Campaign. Chhattisgarh Government is also making efforts in the direction. Two months back when I visited Chhattisgarh on April 14, at that time I got the opportunity to inaugurate first phase of Bastar Net Project. He said- this project will also be completed by March next year and 4104 Gram Panchayats of Chhattisgarh will also be connected throught internet. Till date, six thousand Gram Panchayats of the state under BSNL have been connected under the project.
22 thousand Haats to be developed across the country
About Vandhan Yojana of Central Government, Prime Minister said that two months back when I came of Chhattisgarh on April 14 on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, I inaugurated Vandhan Yojana on the land of Chhattisgarh. Objective of this scheme is to ensure that forest dwellers get right prices for forest products. 22 thousand rural haats will be developed across the country. Initially, development of five thousand haats has been started. Mr. Modi said that Government is trying to provide Mandi kind of facility to our forest dweller fellowmen in the five-six kilometer area of their own village.
