Income tax department has warned tax evaders to join tax compliant mainstream. He said this while unveiling Aayakar Bhavan at Panvel in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.
Nitya Nand Mishra, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Thane said that while Department honours the honest tax payers and renders various services to tax payers, he warned the tax evaders to join the Tax compliant mainstream. He cautioned that anybody who is not paying the due taxes will not be spared and Department will enforce the compliance strictly and also go all out to recover the taxes due. He was addressing a gathering after unveiling Aayakar Bhawan at Panvel in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.
The new building was inaugurated by Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune, Vinodanand Jha and Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Pune, Akhoury Abhay Shanker in the presence of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Thane, Nitya Nand Mishra, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-2, Thane, Pramod Kumar, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-3, Thane Vir Birsa Ekka, MLA of Panvel, Prashant Thakur, Municipal Commissioner of Panvel Municipal Corporation Ganesh Deshmukh, Director of Family Welfare Training & Research Centre, Dr Deeepak Raut and other senior officers of Income Tax Department from Thane, Kalyan, Palghar, Panvel, Pune and other parts of Maharashtra, Officers of CPWD, representative of various Trade & Manufacturing Associations, representatives of CREDAI, MCHI, other Trade bodies, Officers from CIDCO, Panvel Municipal Corporation and many other Departments, Tax practitioners and top tax payers of Raigad District
The building is being equipped with various schemes of the Government of India, such as the ‘Accessible India Campaign (SUGAMYA YOJNA)’ by providing facilities for the differently abled, using LED Bulbs to save electricity ( UJALA YOJANA), Swachha Bharat Mission, National Solar Mission, water harvesting and plantation of trees to promote environmental protection.
The building also contains facilities for tax payers and tax petitioners like lounge, cafeteria, library etc. in order to help them.
Akhoury Abhay Shanker, DGIT (Inv), Pune, said that the tax evasion is a fraud on poor and downtrodden of our country and it should be treated seriously.
Vinodanand Jha, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune in his key note address said that by making payment of due tax we contribute in nation building. He said that the tax payers can file return through Department’s website.
Shri Krishna, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-2, Thane said that the Panvel Range has achieved a record growth rate of 80.88 percent during FY 2017-18. He further added that the number of tax payers in Raigad District have increased substantially during last financial year. Sanjay Punglia, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Panvel proposed the vote of thanks.
