Salman Khurshid said Congress has Muslims’ blood on its handsKhurshid was speaking at an event in Aligarh Muslim UniversityHe later clarified his statement saying it’s a personal view
Salman Khurshid, senior Congress leader and former law minister, made a startling comment while speaking at an event in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) yesterday.
Responding to a question asked by a former AMU student, who sought Khurshid’s opinion on the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 and riots that followed the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992, Khurshid said, “I’m a part of the Congress so let me accept that we have blood on our hands.”
Khurshid also said that Congress leaders are ready to show the blood on their hands to make people learn from that mistake.
“If you attack them, you are the ones who would get stains on your hands. Learn something from our past. Learn from our history and don’t create such situations for yourself where if you come back to Aligarh Muslim University after 10 years, you find no one like yourself putting out questions,” a report on Times Now quoted Khurshid as saying.
